Quick reminder to surround yourself with people who embody the habits you want to build…
What would your life look like if everyone in your circle was doing their best to improve daily?
I think pretty damn great.
The truest saying I’ve heard recently is that “your habits have a blast radius”.
So, get around others who set the standard… so you’re elevating yourself and can inspire others to do the same.
Talk about impact.

Projects
Novel #3 (Trailer) - We’ve got a trailer!
My pops dragged it over to Old Town Peoria - its final resting spot for the next 2 years.
We have a signed lease and the electrical line installed so progress is being made…
But we’ve got our work cut out for us over the next month to launch in mid-July.
The trailer is getting wrapped on Thursday and Friday so I’ll share the final look next week.
In the meantime… I’m getting some more equipment installed and our inventory ordered and placed inside…
And toward the end of June, we’ll start training our new team members at our Phoenix shop.
Here are the numbers on what it costs to get it built:
Full trailer buildout - $28,439
More equipment installs - $1,200
There are a few more pieces of equipment and inventory that aren’t shown here so by the time we’re open, the total project cost will be close to $40,000.
This is an exciting time for Novel…
We’re going to point to this project as a pivotal point in Novel’s history.
Novel #4 (Truck) - We almost have a truck too!
It’s time to get a few thousand dollars worth of equipment sent over to the team for install.
I’ll dive into the numbers on this project next week.
Here’s my power list (a mix of short and long-term projects):
Submit plot plan to the city of Peoria for Novel #3 (Trailer)
Submit plan to the city of Avondale for Novel #4 (Truck)
The truck would be stationary from Tuesday through Thursday and would be mobile from Friday through Sunday
Finalize the buildout of Novel #3 (Trailer) and get it inspected
Order all equipment for Novel #4 (Truck)
Look into a new HQ or find a way to rework our existing HQ
I’m back and forth on when to push forward on this but there is no way we won’t outgrow this space after these 2 new projects
Second week is complete.
I’m impressed with how quickly our team has taken ownership of the shop.
Sales volume is underwhelming but things will improve as I put more time into community engagement and social content.
We did $500.40 in sales and hope to break $650 next week.
We’re making really good stuff so I’m pumped for more people to give us a try.
Here’s my power list (a mix of short and long-term projects):
Document and post more behind-the-scenes content
Document final pickup and delivery system
To make sure we’re not running out of fresh products in the middle of our week
Present our team and new applicants a breakdown of what the 8 pm - 4 am shift would look like
Adding delivery and having 2 people per shift versus 1 since our sales volume will likely double
ACQUISITION #2
I’m combining this section with “VEER CONCEPTS” starting this week.
VEER CONCEPTS
No progress this week but if you aren’t up to date with new projects we’re working on, read this and scroll down to the same section.
I’ve re-opened the conversation with a multi-unit coffee company looking to sell in Texas…
So stay tuned for updates on that!
COMMUNITY
I got the opportunity to do a Q&A for a group of talented students curious about business ownership and loved every minute of it:
This is what it’s all about…
Educating, supporting, and inspiring others to do what they dream of.
Audiobook
No podcast this week since I’ve been listening to this.

Health
I’m much more in tune with how my body reacts to certain foods now.
I’ve noticed that gluten and dairy don’t sit too well so I’m making an effort to keep my diet clean with high amounts of animal-based protein and little of everything else.
Not only do I have less brain fog and feel more awake… I lose body fat quickly and my physical endurance is higher as long as I stay hydrated (with electrolytes).
If you struggle to figure out what foods don’t sit well with you, try eliminating specific foods or food groups one at a time and assessing how you feel.
You’ll notice a difference right away.
