Hey friend,
I hope you’re having a solid week.
If you’re new here, I share behind-the-scenes about everything I’m working on and provide a space to meet amazing people through my community, ParkSMB.
I don’t run ads or sell anything, so I have one ask…
Share this with one person.
And let them know how cool you are for reading this.
Let’s get into it:

Projects
If you didn’t read last week, go here first.
A financial restructuring is happening with Novel in the coming months.
I hope to refinance our SBA debt for more favorable terms to help us free up cash.
I’ll outline our options as they’re presented to me.
We’re putting a pause on expansion until then.
We’ll be up to 4 shops by the end of the year, and we’ll need leadership support pretty soon.
So my focus will be on one key leadership hire after the 4th location is open.
We also dropped some crazy stuff in the past couple of weeks:

Few updates this week:
Novel #4 (Truck)
We’re almost ready to launch this thing.
Emission, tags, registration, and initial suppliers are in.
I just need to get it stocked with product, bring on a few team members. and we’re off to the races.
Quite literally…
Have you seen an ice cream truck go 75 on the freeway?
I might try to race this thing on the I10.
Few things to finalize with the truck before we go live:
Finalize city and state permits
Pending even an initial permit review so we’re going to go ahead and open and see what happens
Order initial round of product
+/- $2k worth needs to be brought into the truck
Draft location schedule
Pending a decision on where we want to be in the valley
Promote (preference) or hire a new manager for this location
Hire new crew
We found our sweet spot.
Our menu is locked in, and we’re getting amazing feedback.
This past week was our best yet, breaking over $2k in sales.
The event we hosted played a part… think everything you’d want at a Health and Wellness event including coffee and bagels:
If you missed it, sucks for you.
We’ll announce the next one soon.
The team crushed it that Saturday, and it was my new hire’s first day.
He’s a G for that.
I’ve been iffy about Remix since opening but I’m starting to see the light.
I see its potential and I think we’ll be alright.
If you’re around, I’m at the shop Thursday-Sunday, so come say hi.
And follow the journey on IG or the shop’s newsletter.
VEER CONCEPTS
Novel and Remix are priorities right now, but…
I’ve got an interesting opportunity.
It’s a 2 (food and beverage) concept in one located in Arizona, and I’ve had my eyes on it for a while, and I’ve negotiated a pretty incredible deal.
It’s a 70% seller-financed deal with 30% cash down.
That cash down comes out to +/- $195k.
If you or anyone you know is interested in helping me raise that 30%, let me know and I’ll send you the details.

Unreasonable Hospitality - Will Guidara
Basementality - Ben Weiss (no one has ever mentioned this one)
The 48 Laws of Power - Robert Greene
I have a ton more but we’ll keep it light for now.
Music
Another summer banger:
Health
I’ve got 3 clubs to check out if you’re in Arizona.
Nothing new to report on the training front.
Still pushing forward doing what I can on the macro front.
If you’re struggling to get it in, here’s a good reminder…
Get your shit together and go to the gym.
